About the project: A most inconceivable evening of laughter, love, swordplay, and possible rodents of unusual size. “Have fun storming the castle!” Because directors are casting for an abridged, comedic stage adaptation inspired by The Princess Bride—a delightfully ridiculous retelling entitled The Cliffnotes of Insanity. Seeking actors, swashbucklers, damsels (in various levels of distress), miracle workers, and men (and women) in black who aren’t afraid to shout “INCONCEIVABLE!” with conviction. “Is this a kissing book?” Not exactly. But it is a fast-paced, family-friendly farce that pays loving tribute to one of the greatest films ever made. Come be part of a fairy tale that’s “not just mostly dead… but very much alive!” Additional info: Audition Format: Improv games and cold-read sides from the script. Swordfighting optional (but encouraged in spirit). Bonus points for quoting the movie… tastefully. No experience with fencing, giants, or miracle-making required. Just bring your best “as you wish.” Rehearsals: Tuesday evenings through July-August, then an additional night each week in September. Performances: September 19, 20, 26, 27 at 7:30 pm.
