About the project: In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.” That “Sweet Transvestite” and his motley crew did the “Time Warp” on Broadway in a 25th anniversary revival. Complete with sass from the audience, cascading toilet paper, and an array of other audience participation props, this deliberately kitschy rock ’n’ roll sci-fi gothic musical is more fun than ever! Additional info: Seeking a diverse cast of bold, fearless performers of all genders, identities, and body types who are ready to bring this iconic show to life. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a creature of the night looking for your debut, directors want to see you strut your stuff. Be prepared to sing a brief cut of a rock or rock musical theatre song - not from the show- without accompaniment. Sides from the script may be provided. Vocal range: Bari-Tenor Bb2-G4. A straight-laced All-American man from Denton, Brad Majors discovers everything he believes about himself and his world challenged when he and his fiancée Janet Weiss are confronted with the rampant hedonism of space alien Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
Vocal range: Mezzo-Soprano A3-Eb5. An All-American girl, engaged to Brad Majors, who tries to be everything expected of her until she enters the world of Frank-N-Furter and his creation Rocky Horror. Her world is turned upside down as she is lured into exploring aspects of herself she never dreamed she had.
Vocal range: non-singing role. The Narrator tells his story of debauchery, decadence, and an attack on the American Way. Must be great with improv as this character gets most of the abuse from a sometimes quite vocal crowd.
Vocal range: Rock Tenor D3-B4. A disgruntled Transylvanian underling of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Riff-Raff eventually overthrows his master in order to return to his home planet.
Vocal range: Mezzo-Soprano Bb3-Eb5. Magenta is part of the secret mission from Transylvania forced to be disguised as a maid under Frank-N-Furter. Returns in full space alien uniform to bring things to a conclusion and force Frank to return them all to Transylvania. Doubles as USHERETTE.
Vocal range: Mezzo-Soprano E4-E5. Columbia is a groupie. She first falls in love with Frank-N-Furter, then the Delivery Boy, Eddie. A rock and roll lost-soul who never manages to completely fit in. Tap experience a plus.
Vocal range: Baritone D3-G4. A “sweet transvestite” scientist from the planet of Transsexual, located in the galaxy of Transylvania. He has subverted the space-mission to take over a castle to serve as his laboratory for the creation of a Man: Rocky Horror, a boy-toy and love-slave. He is renowned for his decadence and self-indulgence which in turn lead to his ultimate downfall.
Tenor A3-G4. Created from scratch & using half of Eddie’s brain in the strange laboratory of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Rocky Horror came into the world as a perfectly muscled specimen to serve as a plaything for his creator. Rocky’s knowledge of the world is limited to the purely lustful & sexual. He exists for a very short span of time, during which he has trysts with both Frank-N-Furter & Janet. He reflects Mary Shelley’s classic Creature from Frankenstein who is loved & rejected by his creator.
Vocal range: Baritone: F3-F#4. Eddie from birth is a rotten egg, perpetually finding trouble. He is implied to have had sexual relations with both Dr. Frank-N-Furter and Columbia and seems to have no sense of control or sanity. He emerges from the deep freeze with half his brain and is all rock and roll madness. Doubles as DR. SCOTT, mentor of Brad and Janet and uncle of Eddie. Rival of Dr. Frank-N-Furter and an expert on UFOs.
