Casting actors for short film, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Logline: Tension between humans and nature is at an all-time high. A naive young woman must prove her worth in a violent trial to inspire change despite pushback from the community's values. Synopsis: In a world where nature has been genetically affected by an apocalyptic event, humans fear the creatures born out of this tragedy. The death of a community's protector, the Hunter, forces a group of young people to volunteer to take his place. Five boys and one girl, the old Hunter’s daughter, must compete in a life-or-death trial in order to prove their worth. Through blood, violence, and torture, will these young people prevail as true protectors or become the monsters they have been ordered to kill? Rate: This is an unpaid, non-union production. Accommodations and food will be provided to every actor on their shooting weekend/s Additional info: This production will shoot for five weekends and span from late August to late September. Shooting locations will take place in the Central Washington area. Aslan has an underlying kind, gentle, but strong energy. He is tall, muscular, and athletically built. Something about him screams soldier, prepared for the horrific violence of war. Erikson is a follower to most surprise. He wants to impress those around him, especially those in power. He has a distaste for anything non-human. Erikson has a grave soft spot for Aslan. She is his oldest friend. He is scrawny and childlike. Sam has a pure heart of gold. To others, it may seem that he is sheltered or untouched by trauma. Sam wants nothing more than to be accepted and respected. (3 different roles) Any background. Each elder radiates their own version of power. Whether that be in their physical build, voice, face, etc. Variety is encouraged. They will all wear tan cloaks as a dress code for their job. Think catholic cardinal or bishop, they all dress the same, but each gives off their own presence. He radiates a protective but also violent energy. Albus does his best to guide Aslan as a single parent with an intense full-time job.
