Short Film (15min) Shoot Dates: July 26 & 27 Location: Springfield, Missouri RONITA RAMBO is a romantic dramedy mixed with a late-in-life coming-of-age story. It centers around themes of family, chosen family, generational trauma, self-acceptance, addiction, and the queer South. Ronita is a sharp-tongued, alcoholic waitress who works as the night manager of Dinky’s Diner, the hub of the film. Ronita is trying to get sober so that her born-again daughter Rosalee will let her see her grandchildren again. Ronita recently started Alcoholics Anonymous, and has just met the bombastic, mischievous Mama Tweet, who she starts to fall for. Unmoored and unsure of what to do, Ronita approaches Alex Cunningham (17) - a Branson, Missouri local star, who has been going on secret dates with guys at Dinky’s.
