About the project: SYNOPSIS: For the 11th year, Austin’s most rockin’ holiday tradition returns to make merry with new music and surprises to get the party started. ZACH’s inspired adaptation of the Dickens’ classic is a musical sleigh ride, infusing the traditional Victorian story with a score that spans all genres and eras. Rate: LOA $816 weekly minimum (Ref. to LORT) - 2024- 25 rates. Additional info: Please prepare a short cut of one of the songs below that shows off your vocal range and a contrasting song of your choosing. Rehearsals begin: October 24th, 2025 Performances begin: November 19th, 2025 Closes: January 3rd, 2026 9 shows per week: Tuesdays through Sundays at 7:30pm and some Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30pm. Scrooge is a grumpy old man who has buried a lot of memories by focusing only on his work and material success.
Bob is a good-natured and hard-working man, doing his best to stay positive while supporting a large family and working for a difficult boss.
The ghost of Jacob Marley shows the tragic end of a life lived like Scrooge’s. He deals in heavy emotions at all times - anger and anguish mostly. Mr. Fezziwig is a huge personality who is loved by all and who wants nothing more than to share his success with everyone around him.
Mrs. Fezziwig is a big personality who turns everything she touches into a celebration/ Bob Cratchit’s supportive wife and mother to their large brood.
Loud and boisterous, The Ghost lives in the momentbut mixes their good nature with a serious understanding of the weight of time.
This Ghost seems good and ethereal, but their questioning of Scrooge causes him to address memories he’d rather push aside.
Fred is upbeat and optimistic, revels in family and Christmas, and knows that service to others is the best way to happiness. They celebrate each day, and while not materially rich, they are wealthy in their heart.
Ebenezer Scrooge as a young adult is serious at work, driven with a purpose to never be in debt. He can relax and enjoy life with encouragement from Mr. Fezziwig and his daughter Belle, who offers the promise of a life very different from how he grew up.
Gwendolyn is Fred’s partner, confident and strong, not afraid to let their voice be heard.
Belle is the girl of Young Ebenezer’s dreams, who falls for him but is strong and independent enough to walk away when he chooses work over her.
The Cratchit’s oldest child who has moved out but makes it home for Christmas, knowing how important it is to the family.
Fred’s rowdy yet entertaining friend/ Young Ebenezer’s best friend, an outgoing and confident young man.
