About the project: SUMMARY: In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.” That “Sweet Transvestite” and his motley crew did the “Time Warp” on Broadway in a 25th anniversary revival. Complete with sass from the audience, cascading toilet paper, and an array of other audience participation props, this deliberately kitschy rock ’n’ roll sci-fi gothic musical is more fun than ever! Additional info: Prepare a 32-bar cut of a rock, glam rock, or 70’s-style song, or a musical theatre piece in the style of the show. You will need to provide your own accompaniment track for your vocal audition. Bring your track ready on your device to your audition. Callbacks will be held the same day as auditions Sunday, July 20th from 3:15 PM to 5:15 PM. The first table read will take place on July 27th at 6:30PM. Rehearsals are scheduled to run July 27th through October 22nd on Mondays - Tuesday, 6:30PM-9:30PM, and Sundays from 5PM-9PM. Tech week begins Sunday, October 26th, and tech week rehearsals will run through Wednesday, October 29th. Performances will run from October 30th - November 2nd, 7:30 PM Thursday Friday-Saturday 7:30 PM/11:30 PM and 2:30 PM Sunday. (Range: Bari Tenor, Bb2-G4). Quirky, but very much in love with his fiancé, Janet. Overly optimistic at times.
(Range: Mezzo Soprano Belt, A3-Eb5). Good girl who is madly in love with Brad. Always seems to be frightened of something. Keeps losing more of her clothes throughout the story. Emotionally weak and caves into pressure easily.
(Non-Singing Role). Follows our two heroes through the story by narrating directly to the audience.
(Range: High Rock Tenor, D3-B4). Creepy man resembling more of a zombie. Often makes harmless conversation seem awkward and foreboding. One of Frank’s servants.
(Range: Mezzo Soprano Belt, E4-E5). One of Frank’s servants.
(Range: Baritone, D3-G4). Master of the castle. Welcomes Janet and Brad with open arms. Obsessed with creating a man to be part of his sexual entourage. Master of seduction.
(Range: Tenor, A3-G4). Frank’s magnificent creation. Sexually appealing with prominent muscles.
(Range: Baritone, E3-F#4). Abandoned their delivery job to live in the castle. Eddie was Columbia and Frank’s ex-lover, half of his brain was used to create Rocky; A total rock and roll junkie.
(Range: Baritone, E3-F#4). Brad’s former science teacher and close friend. He ends up at the castle while looking for his nephew, Eddie.
(SATB). Various singers. They are used onstage and off as backup singers as well as understudies.
