About the project: The Little Mermaid is a beloved musical based on the classic Disney film and Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale. It follows the adventurous young mermaid Ariel, who dreams of life beyond the sea. When she makes a daring deal with the sea witch Ursula to become human, she must navigate the challenges of the human world while proving that love and determination can overcome any obstacle. Featuring iconic songs like Part of Your World, Under the Sea, and Poor Unfortunate Souls, this enchanting tale of love, sacrifice, and self-discovery is sure to captivate audiences of all ages. Additional info: WHAT TO PREPARE: Please prepare a 1-minute cut of a song in the style of The Little Mermaid. Bring a backing track for your audition—acapella singing will not be permitted. Tracks may be played from a phone, tablet, or other device; a Bluetooth speaker will be available, but feel free to bring your own. Please do not sing a song from The Little Mermaid. AUDITION FORMAT: During your audition time slot, you will present your prepared audition material and you will be taught a dance combination to perform as directors are looking for a strong group of experienced dancers to be featured in this production. You will be required to be at your entire time slot so please pick one that works best with your schedule. ATTIRE: Come dressed to move. Please wear athletic or dance clothing you can move in with Jazz or Tennis shoes. WHAT’S NEXT? Prepare your audition, familiarize yourself with the show, and arrive 20 minutes before your audition slot for check-in, getting settled, and stretching. A noble and charismatic prince who feels out of place in his royal role. Unlike traditional fairy-tale princes, Eric is a dreamer—drawn to the sea and longing for something beyond the confines of palace life. He is brave, kind, and deeply romantic. Vocal Range: B2-G4 Dance/movement experience is preferred
Ursula is larger than life—intelligent, manipulative, and deliciously wicked. She is a master of deception, using her persuasive skills to lure Ariel into a dangerous bargain. Vocal Range: F3-C5
King Triton’s right-hand crab, Sebastian is both a high-strung advisor and an unexpected mentor to Ariel. Though he starts off rigid and overly cautious, he ultimately proves to be one of Ariel’s most loyal allies. Vocal Range: Bb2-C5 Dance/movement experience is preferred
The powerful ruler of Atlantica and a devoted father to Ariel and her sisters. Triton is stern, authoritative, and protective, but beneath his imposing exterior lies a deep love for his family and a vulnerability regarding the loss of his wife. Vocal Range: Ab2-F4
A bumbling but well-meaning seagull who fancies himself an expert on all things human. Scuttle is delightfully eccentric and offers comic relief with his outrageous explanations of human objects. Vocal Range: C3-G4 Dance/movement experience is preferred

Prince Eric’s loyal and long-suffering guardian. A dignified and traditional man, Grimsby is deeply devoted to Eric and genuinely wants what’s best for him. Though often exasperated by the prince’s adventurous spirit, his love for Eric is evident. Vocal Range: C3-C4
