Singing Audition for "Ride The Cyclone" Play

About the project: In a dilapidated warehouse at an abandoned amusement park, an aging mechanical fortune-teller called The Amazing Karnak comes to life, and brings with him a ghostly choir of five deceased high-schoolers – all members of the Saint Cassian Chamber Choir, who were tragically killed on the park’s Cyclone roller coaster. Now, Karnak has the power to return one of these youths to life – but they must all decide among themselves who is the most worthy of a second chance to “ride the cyclone” that is life. Additional info: Callbacks | May 27th 7p-9p (by invitation) Performances: August 8- 31 ,2025 Rehearsals: Weekday Evenings/Daytime Weekends. Specific rehearsal schedule days TBD. Audition Requirments: Prepare a song in style of the show (sing a cappella or bring tracks). You may also prepare a monologue or just do some cold readings. Movement/dance will be done only if called back (May 27) Auditionees interested in auditioning for Karnak will not need to sing. If you are interested, please apply.

Belter, Alto The highly ambitious, self appointed leader of the choir group with a relentlessly competitive and sometimes cruel attitude, striving to be the best at everything. Must be able to appear as if you are in your late teens.
Classical/Operatic voice, Alto The unknown in the group, portrayed as a headless porcelain doll who doesn’t remember anything prior to her death and is longing for some semblance of her former life. Must be able to appear as if you are in your late teens.
Rapper/Folksinger, Baritone Adopted from Ukraine with a thick Ukrainian dialect accompanied by a fixation on gangster rap and a hidden, passionate romantic side. Must be able to appear as if you are in your late teens.
Smooth Cabret voice, Tenor The alleged only gay kid in Uranium and aspiring poet, with a fantasy of living his life as his alter ego, a French hooker, and dying a dramatic, tragic death. Must be able to appear as if you are in your late teens.
Rock voice, Baritone The quiet kid with an over imaginative mind, who is able to think outside the box, but suffers from an imposter syndrome in his own fantasies. Must be able to appear as if you are in your late teens.
Rock Voice, Alto The people pleaser, who tends to stay in the shadow of Ocean. However, behind the smile, she struggles to appreciate her own surroundings, and doubts her place in Uranium and the universe as a whole. Must be able to appear as if you are in your late teens.
Speaking role only. The mechanical fortune-telling machine, a monotonous mysterious figure that knows all, but will never say all that they know.
