"Burnout Kingdom" Musical Needs Actors
Seeking performers for New York Theater Festival Summerfest. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the details below. About the project: Burnout Kingdom a New Wave Musical is an original musical that will be making it's debut for the festival. SYNOPSIS: In 1984 New York City, Danni is an aspiring singer who has kicked ehr ex-boyfriend out of her failing band. After an explosive fight onstage, an agent gives them a chance to sign with a major label, with hopes of exploiting their personal drama. Rate: $200 stipend provided. Additional info: There will be three to four evening rehearsals starting the third week of May, with an occasional weekend rehearsal. Performances will be June 23rd, 27th, and 29th. When applying, please include a headshot, resume, a contemporary monologue, and a 32 bar cut of a pop/rock musical (Spring Awakening, American Idiot, etc). Please slate which character you are auditioning for in your submission video. There will be a second round of callbacks with material from the show.

Mid 20s, (Ab3-E5). Lead singer of the band. Abe's ex-girlfriend. Hides deep insecurity behind her "cool girl" attitude.
Mid 20s, (G2-Ab4). Danni's ex-boyfriend, and ex-bandmember. Though he tries, unchecked mental illness causes him to be manic, and intense.
Mid 20s, (Eb4-F5). The band's number one fan, and narrator. Bring enthusiasm to the story, though her narrating skills could use some work.
Mid 20s, (E4-E5). Danni's roomate, and fellow performer. Simmering with anger, she will steamroll over anything in her path.
Mid 20s, (Eb3-F4). Bandmember, and Clevelands boyfriend. a purist who still believes the punk movement will change the world.
Mid 20s, (Eb3-G4). Bandmember, and Grovers boyfriend. A romantic and lover of pop music.
Mid 20s, (E3-E4). Bandmember. Has high escpectations for himself, and is focused on financial stability.
