About the play: Set in Yonkers, New York in 1942, Lost in Yonkers follows Bella, a sweet but developmentally stunted woman living with her stern mother, Grandma Kurnitz. When Eddie, Bella’s brother, leaves his two sons in their grandmother’s care to seek work as a traveling salesman, the boys must navigate life under Grandma’s strict rule, Bella’s secret dreams, and the unpredictable presence of their Uncle Louie, a small-time hoodlum. Additional information: CALLBACKS May 23 6-8 pm. Auditions will be scheduled in 20-minute intervals. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. Auditions will be held in the theater.
