About the project: “The Grasses” is a short script (prob 3 minutes running time) in the “Vault” universe. Please watch “Vault” before submitting so you have background for the world - this film is not found footage, so it’ll have a different vibe. There is no audible dialogue in the film. Content and trigger warnings: depiction of an emotionally abusive relationship, one instance of physical touch (a small shake), emotional difficulty. (lead): a thoughtful person, connected to their body and to nature, who is slowly collapsing in an abusive relationship. Open to actors of all genders/ages who are interested in showing a gradual shift in subtle emotions over time in a script with no dialogue. Must be comfortable having conversations about abusive relationships and be able to work with the director (who has studied intimacy coordination) to block and perform scenes with emotional content.
(supporting): a narcissistic person with anger issues who lashes out (mostly verbally) at their partner Ash. Open to actors of all genders/ages who are able to improv and/or convincingly perform angry dialogue that will be heard (muffled) in the background of two scenes. Must be comfortable having conversations about abusive relationships and be able to work with the director (who has studied intimacy coordination) to block and perform scenes with emotional content.
