ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking performers for three workshop readings of "Blackbird Calling" with the potential of working on the full-scale production in the fall. About the play: "Blackbird Calling" is the story of a young woman who moves to the prairie pothole region of Alberta and encounters the tameis—undesirables living in double houses on a dead-end street. When she befriends a family of tameis, she discovers their stories and culture in a way that seeps into her identity. First published in Quattro Books and shortlisted for the ReLit Award.
