The company is holding auditions for “Ingvar! A Musical Furniture Saga, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: “Ingvar! A Musical Saga” is a fantastical musical about the life and times of IKEA founder, Ingvar Kamprad. A group of stockbrokers gather to tell Kamprad’s life and legend – from a poor boy in Smaland to the leader of a global furniture empire. As Kamprad’s story builds, the lines of admiration and resentment begin to blur, leading the ensemble to question their own roles in a capitalist society. This pop opera features music in a variety of folk and contemporary styles – there will be singing, there will be dancing, and there will be actors dressed up as furniture! Rate: All actors will receive a stipend of $600 Additional info: Callbacks will be held Wednesday April 9. Rehearsals begin June 9 on Sunday afternoons and Monday-Thursday evenings.
