Talent Wanted for Upcoming Singing Audition
Looking for singers/dancers for the upcoming theatre show "Singin' in the Rain". Please find the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Singin' in the Rain has all the makings of a Tinseltown tabloid headline – the starlet, the leading man and a love affair that could change lives and make or break careers. In silent movies, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a hot item but, behind the scenes, things aren't always as they appear on the big screen Meanwhile, Lina's squeaky voice might be the end of her career in "talking pictures" without the help of a talented young actress to do the talking and singing for her. Additional info: All performers will be asked to sing 16 bars of “Singin’ in the Rain” and to read one of the provided monologues. Monologues and songs do not have to be memorized. Actors who want to be considered for Don, Cosmo, or Kathy should also prepare the indicated character song. (See attached sheet music and audition tracks, and monologue options.) Accompaniment will be provided at the audition. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for your slot. If you’d like to learn more about the show and the company, come at 5:45 for welcome and introductions. Feel free to stay and cheer on other auditioners! PERFORMANCES: Friday, June 20, 7pm; Saturday, June 21, 2pm Matinee; Saturday June 21, 7pm; Sunday, June 22, 2pm Matinee. For being considered please apply.
