About the project: The story explores unseen perspectives of the women who loved Him and devotedly followed Him. As witnesses of His life, His ministry and His crucifixion they remember the sorrows and joys of His mortal life. In the moments immediately following the crucifixion, the family members and disciples of Jesus are tasked with the sacred duty of burying their beloved Friend and Savior. As the Passover approaches they must postpone elements of the burial ritual until after the holiday is over. When they come back, the women are met with angels and Jesus Himself. They rejoice with the Lord! Rate: Actors will receive $75 - $115 per performance (based on role). Additional info: Please arrive before 10:00 A.M. so that directors may begin promptly. Casting Notes: Directors will take photos at the audition, so there is no need to bring headshots. Despite being a live performance, directors are looking for subtle, authentic portrayals. Your delivery should not be theatrical or dramatic—aim for a performance that feels like real life rather than a staged production. Be conversational and comfortable. Think of the dialogue as if you are speaking to someone you know well—there should be no exaggerated gestures or forced emotions. Stay present in the moment and respond organically to your scene partner in real time (don’t be cemented into one particular delivery). Trust your instincts and remember that less is often more. Performances: April 10, 11, 12. Rehearsals: March 25th through April 9th (dress rehearsal) starting at 6:30 P.M. Every evening except Sundays. There will be a detailed rehearsal schedule so only those that are rehearsing on stage need to attend that rehearsal. Directors don’t want to waste your time!
