Open call for Disney's "Aladdin" Dual Language Edition, a bilingual Spanish/English adaption of the classic Disney movie. Seeking actors. Please see the breakdown below. Rate: All roles are paid. Additional info: This is a professional non-equity company. Everyone attending should plan to come for the entire duration. Please come prepared with 16-32 bars of music in the style of the show. The audition will also include a dance portion and you may be asked to read from the script as well. The rehearsal period for this production is from April 28-May 28 and performances run May 29-June 15. All rehearsals and performances are during the evenings and weekends. See the attachment. Our story’s protagonist. A wily street rat who can’t stay out of trouble, he is tired of his rira lifestyle, which leads him to masquerade as a rich prince. Falls in l love with Jazmin. Primarily English. Vocal Range B2 - F4
Princess of Agrabah and daughter of the Sultan. Resistant to the trapped feeling and arranged marriages that come with her title. She eventually falls in love with Aladdin. Primarily Spanish. Vocal Range: A3 - Eb5
A prisoner of the magic lamp who becomes Aladdin’s slave. He is a wacky and sarcastic showman that dreams of being free. English and Spanish. Vocal Range: A3 - D5
Storytellers and newscasters in Agrabah. They typically set the scene and provide transitions. English and Spanish. Vocal Range: B3 - C5
The Grand Vizier and the Sultan’s right-hand man who separated Agrabah by language barriers. Has deadpan delivery and dreams of being Sultan one day, using the Genie and Sultan to fulfill his evil wishes. English and Spanish. Vocal Range: Ab2 - E4
Jafar’s parrot and sidekick. Talkative, sarcastic, and just as wicked as his master. English and Spanish. Vocal Range: B3 - D5
Ruler of Agrabah. Set in following the traditional laws and, as a result, has dificulty managing his daughter Jazmin. Somewhat aloof and daft. Primarily Spanish.
Princess Jasmine’s tiger, protective of his owner. Commonly serves as a translator between Jazmin and the English-speaking characters. English and Spanish.
Jafar’s right-hand man and Capitan de los Guardias (Captain of the Royal Guards). A big mean oaf who has great disdain for street urchins. Primarily Spanish. Vocal Range D3 - F4
Aladdin’s pet monkey, always looking for a bite to eat. Commonly serves as a translator between Aladdin and the Spanish-speaking characters. English and Spanish.
A beautiful ying carpet found in an abandoned cave. Often used by Aladdin and Abu for transportation.
