"Fiddler on the Roof" show seeking cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: "Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, Fiddler on the Roof's universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness." Rate: Please note this is a non-paying production. Additional info: Non-union. AUDITION PREP Upon applying, you will receive an email confirming your time slot. At that time, you will also be sent a link to audition materials, as vocal auditions will consist of songs from the show. Even if you are auditioning for multiple roles, please just pick one song to sing at auditions. The audition materials will be organized by character and contain audio and video files of the songs with lyrics, as well as PDF sheet music. Please also review the document that breaks down the songs by character. You will audition with the same backing track provided in the audition materials (Note that while they are using tracks for auditions, a live pit orchestra will be utilized for performances). There will be a dance audition for everyone; please dress comfortably. REHEARSAL SCHEDULE Rehearsals will begin on or around Wednesday, February 26 and the schedule will be built around actor availability. Not every actor will be called to every rehearsal. Tentatively, rehearsals will be Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Please refrain from auditioning if you have any conflicts with tech week (April 26-May 1) or any performance.
