About the project: Lee returns from university to his deindustrialized hometown of Shiloh, British Columbia to reconnect with his best friend Kevin over a game of basketball. However, despite their shared working class background, their diverging paths in life reveal unresolved tensions. Rate: Non union. Volunteer project. Additional information: Shoot/Performance Date(s) TENTATIVE February 15th-17th. Shoot/Performance Location(s) British Columbia. This production will have basketball as a plot device so playing the game may be relevant to casting. Submission Deadline January 19, 2025. Born: Shiloh, British Columbia Background: Chinese, Born to Chinese Immigrants, Only Child Characteristics: Serious & Bookish Grew up in the small town of Shiloh. Son of working class immigrant parents. Eventually received a scholarship to study at a prestigious university in the lower mainland. However, upon arriving, he felt alienated from his roots as he was surrounded by more privileged people. He feels as though everyone is ahead of him.
Born: Shiloh British Columbia Background: Jamaican, Born to Jamaican Immigrants, Only Child Characteristics: Laid back & Chill Grew up in the small town of Shiloh. Best friends with Lee. He was denied the opportunity to go to university however, and thus stayed. He now works at a fast-food restaurant in order to pay the bills. He has resigned himself to this small town and doesn't want to imagine himself beyond that.
