"Wizard of Oz" Audition for the Theater
Performers are invited to audition for the "Wizard of Oz" Show. Please see the details below. About the project: This beloved tale, in which a Kansas farm girl travels over the rainbow to discover the magical power of home, has entertained audiences for generations. Follow the yellow brick road in this delightful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale, features the iconic musical score from the MGM film. The timeless tale, in which young Dorothy Gale travels from Kansas over the rainbow to the magical Land of Oz, continues to thrill audiences worldwide. Additional info: Directors will hold callbacks on Saturday, January 11th if needed. Production dates are not 100% confirmed yet but will be either the last 2 weekends of April, the last weekend of April, the first weekend of May, or the first 2 weekends of May. Rehearsals will be on Monday and Thursday from 6-8:30. Not all cast members will be called for every rehearsal, There will be weeks where a 4th rehearsal may be needed. Please prepare all of the following: One of the selected monologues or dialogues from the show 60 - 90 seconds of a song (your choice) One of the provided vocal selections from the show (only if auditioning for Dorothy; if interested in Tinman, Scarecrow or Lion we may ask to hear one of the provided songs.) Lead role, baritone (Range: Bb2-F#4 (opt. Ab4)) Plucky and clever in a pinch, even while lacking a brain. Strong actor with an honest quality. Excellent dancer – acrobatic skills a bonus. Sometimes double cast as Hunk.
