About the project: The film follows a man living in a modern dystopian society, a cog in a large corporate wheel. He is content with his dull, meaningless life—until an unexpected personal discovery occurs. Rate: Non-Union. Volunteer. Additional information: Shoot/Performance Date(s) February 2024. Shoot/Performance Location(s) Downtown Vancouver. Film will be submitted to festivals and screened at the rio theatre as part of a short film collection. Submission Deadline January 15, 2025. Sol wears matching socks everyday. He gets up and goes to work every morning at the same time. He is a cog in a machine and takes pride in this. Nothing exciting has happened in his life. Nothing ever will. Until one day his routine is disrupted and he goes on a journey of self discovery.
Marge has always felt like she doesn't quite fit in. She is a fierce old woman. She believes there is more to life than sitting at a desk writing documents. She has made contact with the world beyond the city walls and has plans to escape.
The Productivity Manager is a constructed robot, designed to resemble a human. At first glance, one would never suspect that he is an AI. He speaks softly and quietly, maintaining a calm demeanor at all times.
Background security officers. In this role, you may have one or two lines of dialog. It mostly involves running chasing other characters.
