Theatre Casting Call for "The Bottom Line" in MD

About the project: Featuring music in a jazz standard / Broadway style, The Bottom Line is a romance story set against the tension arising from technological advances in the banking industry over several decades.The show begins and ends in 2009, centering on 20-something Bobby Jones, who faces a choice between helping his mother continue his late father’s legacy in their small, community-focused bank or pursuing a different career. At a reunion of aging, retired bankers, Bobby meets several of his parents’ colleagues who share stories of the old days when banking was a service, not just a business. We flashback to the early 1980s, now following Bobby’s father as a young man just starting his banking career (and meeting and falling in love with Bobby’s mother) at a time when rapid changes in technology, along with the greed of some unscrupulous business people, threaten to destroy the integrity of the institution in favor of “the bottom line.” Additional information: Deadline for Video Submissions: 1/10/2025; Workshop rehearsals at Showcase On Main in Elkton, MD; Tech rehearsals and Performances at Newark Charter School in Newark, DE; See the attachment for more info.
