As his lies spiral, Nader grows emotionally attached to Cynthia, his only source of validation. In the surreal final act, he must decide whether to end the illusion or endure ridicule. Nader is an awkward and introverted international student from Palestine, arriving in Canada by way of Jordan. A master's student in engineering, he harbours a romantic and artistic soul that often conflicts with his pragmatic studies. As a newcomer, Nader is acutely aware of his “otherness” and deeply anxious that his foreignness will alienate him in social interactions.
SUPPORTING. Jeff is Nader's outgoing and charismatic roommate with a need to assert dominance in all his relationships. He thrives on being the alpha male, which manifests in his casual cruelty and exploitation of those around him.
SUPPORTING. Harv is another of Nader's roommates who is more laid-back and less antagonistic than Jeff. He shares Jeff’s party lifestyle but lacks his cruelty and assertiveness. While Harv occasionally steps in to defuse tension, his interventions are half-hearted at best. He passively follows Jeff's lead, enabling the toxic dynamics of the household through his silence and indifference.
SUPPORTING. Cynthia is Nader’s imaginary girlfriend, created to fulfill his need for validation and acceptance in a new environment. She initially appears as the ideal partner—kind, beautiful, and supportive. However, as Nader struggles with his roommates’ growing skepticism, Cynthia’s characteristics begin to change.
POC, Fatima is one of Jeff’s flings. She is polite but disinterested, showing minimal engagement with Nader. Her presence in Jeff’s life reflects his exploitative and superficial approach to relationships.
Jessa is Harv’s date, who he brings back to their house. She is polite and curious but unintentionally highlights Nader’s insecurities through her remarks. While her intentions aren’t malicious, her presence adds to Nader's sense of alienation.
Roxanne is another one of Jeff’s brief romantic interests who Nader encounters leaving their house late at night. Roxanne is polite but quietly dismissive, giving the impression of someone who understands Jeff's game but is willing to play along.
