Directors are currently in need of performers for "Perfect Wedding" play. Please, see the details below. About the play: Perfect Wedding (Robin Hawdon) - The groom awakes to find a strange girl in bed beside him! What’s more, he has no idea who she is! It’s hysterical chaos when the bride arrives, the girl is trapped in the bathroom, the best man pretends to be her boyfriend and the chambermaid pretends to be everyone’s girlfriend... Additional information: Call backs: December 8th - TBD. Performance dates are April 4, 5, 6, and April 10, 11, 12, 13, 2025. Rehearsals - once weekly in January, increasing to three times a week as we lead up to opening night. (Tuesday Nights/Thursday Nights/Sunday Afternoons) The play is set in the 1990s and takes place at a posh hotel room on the day of Rachel & Bill’s wedding. PLEASE NOTE: This will be a positive, respectful and safe rehearsal environment and directors encourage everyone from any background or experience to come and audition. While the play is set in the United Kingdom, English accents are not a requirement. Actors will be required to be at most, if not all rehearsals, as this is an ensemble comedy that depends on timing. The auditions will consist of cold readings and group exercises. New actors and seasoned thespians are both welcome. Actors cast will be expected to be off-book before blocking rehearsals begin.
6 roles
The Bride, female-identifying. A focused and lovely posh Bridezilla. She’s not a terrible person. It is her big day after all.
The Groom, male-identifying. An affable, average posh bloke who had a few too many drinks at his stag and may have made a huge mistake.
The Best Man, male-identifying. A confident, sporty posh bloke, bit of a ladies man. Anything for a friend.
Female-identifying. A lovely manic-pixie type who you instantly take a shine towards when you see her. Seems quite posh.
A Chamber-maid, female-identifying. Working-class, plucky, maybe a bit rough around the edges, but agreeable to a fault.
The Bride’s Mother, female-identifying. Fabulously posh and exhausted with everything, especially her husband.
