Performers Needed for "Home, I'm Darling" Play
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Directors are currently in need of performers for production of "Home, I'm Darling". More details are below. About the play: The 2019 Oliver Award winner for Best New Comedy, Home, I’m Darling, is a fun comedy/drama with a central mystery at its heart. Living like they are in the 50s, a couple slowly reveals how they created this world in their home, as they are actually living in the 21st century, and this is an agreed-upon arrangement. It’s easy to romanticize the past, but what is the cost of maintaining this image of marital bliss? Maybe some things are better left behind? Home, I’m Darling explores interesting gender dynamics, our too-often rose-tinted view of the past, and what is learned—and lost—when we move forward. It’s a beautiful look at modern relationships that ultimately is hopeful but asks the central question: “How happy are the happily married?” Additional information: You will be asked to prepare and perform a one to two-minute monologue. You may rehearse and bring in your own or choose from various monologues provided at the audition. Afterwards, selections from the script will be provided for cold readings. Callbacks may be required to cast these roles on these potential callback dates: Saturday, November 30th at 2pm. Sunday, December 1st at 2pm. Wednesday, December 4th at 6pm. If you're interested, please apply.
