Auditions for Musical "West Side Story"
In need of male and female talent for the "West Side Story" show. Review the details provided below. About the project: Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City as two young, idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the "American" Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence, and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time. Additional info: Musical Audition: Everyone auditioning will learn a portion of a selection from the show taught on-site. Acting Audition: Everyone will do readings from the show. Don’t be afraid to ask to read for a part that you are interested in, if not previously read. Dance Audition: Learn and perform a portion of choreography taught on-site. Wear something comfortable to move in. Please wear dance or character shoes…. no sandals, crocs, or opened-toed shoes at auditions. Additional Information: Bring a complete list of any conflicts, as they will be considered during casting. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 10 pm, starting Thursday, November 21st, with potential additional rehearsals on Saturdays and Sundays.
