Performers Needed for "Groundhog Day" Play
The company is holding auditions for "Groundhog Day" show and looking for performers, please see the details below. About the project: How would you spend your time if forced to repeat the same day over and over again? Phil Connors, a seasoned big-city weatherman, is frustrated to be to reporting the annual Groundhog Day Ceremony in small town Punxsutawney, PA. His arrogance and cynicism are in direct opposition to the cheery townsfolk, who are ready for their favorite Groundhog to not see his shadow and welcome an early spring. After disdainfully covering the rodent's negative forecast, he awakens the next day only to discover it's February 2 once more. Initially in disbelief, Phil finally accepts he is doomed to repeat the same day over and over again.... Will Phil accept that he is doomed to repeat the same day over and over again? Or will he find the courage to change himself and his fate? Additional info: Please note this show is PG-13. there is some strong language and strong themes. Please prepare 16-32 bars (around 1-1 ½ minutes) of a song of your choice. There will not be a dance audition. Please either bring clearly marked sheet music for our accompanist or a track to sing along to. We will have a Bluetooth speaker available. Rehearsal Information: Rehearsals run M-TH from 6-8:30, beginning DECEMBER 9TH** Rehearsal will break for Christmas and New Years and resume again on January 6th. Actors are only called to those rehearsals that involve their characters.
