About the play: Set in an era of tumultuous change, this play explores the forbidden and gloriously liberated self, where characters grapple with explosive and contradictory desires. It is a time of enormous political, emotional and sexual change. People are bursting their corsets with unbridled desire. There are half a million more women than men living in England. The women’s suffrage movement is fuelled by sheer numbers. Women demand rights. Passions erupt and confusion reigns… Rate: Non-Paying. Non-Union. Please prepare a short monologue, no more than 3 minutes and be ready to be redirected. While the play is set in London, England, it is not the desire of the director to use British accents.
