Theatre Casting Call for "Lemuria" Production
The company is holding auditions for "LEMURIA" by Bonnie Antosh and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Professor Anabelle Katz-Carver, the greatest primatologist since Jane Goodall, runs her elite research lab as a strict matriarchy. After grooming potential successors for decades, she's finally ready to choose an heir — but in the animal kingdom and in our own, how does a queen pass the crown on to another queen? LEMURIA is an inheritance drama about dominance, queer Southern scientists, academic lineage, sex, and — yes — lemurs. Additional info: Actors should have a short contemporary monologue ready and be prepared to do some cold readings from the script in addition to group improvisation. Perusal Scripts are available on request. Rehearsals will be held on evenings and weekends between November 6 and January 19, 2025. Performances are January 16-19. Please apply if interested.
