Description:

"Pride & Prejudice" show casting actors. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the breakdown below. About the project: SYNOPSIS: This isn’t your grandmother’s Austen! Bold, surprising, boisterous, and timely, this P&P for a new era explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match in life. The outspoken Lizzy Bennet is determined to never marry, despite mounting pressure from society. But can she resist love, especially when that vaguely handsome, mildly amusing, and impossibly aggravating Mr. Darcy keeps popping up at every turn?! Literature’s greatest tale of latent love has never felt so theatrical, or so full of life than it does in this effervescent adaptation. Because what turns us into greater fools…than the high-stakes game of love? Additional info: Note: Kate Hamill's adaptation is rowdy, fast-paced, and highly comic - this is not a quiet and staid production. What To Prepare: Please plan to read sides attached for the character you’re interested in playing. Please take the time to memorize as much as possible. Notes: The play is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes, including intermission. The play uses an upperclass British dialect, also known as Received Pronunciation. This dialect is not required for the audition. Callbacks: TBD. Rehearsals – December rehearsals - 12/8, 12/29 and 12/30. Regularly scheduled rehearsals begin in earnest on January 2nd. In general, rehearsals will be held Sunday 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm and Monday through Thursday 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm. All actors are not called for all rehearsals.
