Description:

Casting call for feature film "Spiraling" (a faith-based film). Looking for cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the roles below. About the project: Storyline: "Spiraling" is a powerful and emotionally charged faith-based drama that dives deep into the human condition, exploring themes of addiction, redemption, and the transformative power of love, forgiveness, and faith in God. Set against the backdrop of the beautiful mountains of Northeast Tennessee, "Spiraling" follows a young man in his twenties grappling with drug addiction and the haunting guilt of his family's tragic death. As he navigates his turbulent relationship with his estranged uncle, a man battling his own demons, he embarks on a harrowing journey toward redemption. His journey is marked by his interactions with a cast of richly developed characters, including a supportive former love interest, a tough yet compassionate nurse, and his uncle, whose own tragic past serves as a mirror to his suffering. As he confronts his darkest moments, he discovers the enduring strength of family, the healing power of forgiveness, and the profound impact of faith in God. Through prayer and spiritual awakening, he begins to find a path to redemption and hope. This film has the potential to resonate with a broad audience, offering a poignant and compelling narrative that highlights the struggles and triumphs of its deeply flawed yet profoundly human characters. Rate: Unpaid for proof-of-concept video; Gas and food reimbursement only. Paid for feature film shoot in Spring. Additional info: Screenwriter is creating a faith-based feature film in the Tri-Cities area. Directors actually have two projects that they hope to use the same cast for both. The first is a proof-of-concept video that they need to shoot prior to the feature film to send to investors for film funding. Please note – the proof-of-concept video shoot is a LOCAL HIRE (or willing to work as a local hire) only. Directors will be able to provide gas reimbursement and food, however this one is not a paid project. Purely creative. Please only apply if you are able and willing to commit to time and effort required to film in the Tri-Cities. Lead roles will likely be needed for 1-3 days depending on the character. If cast as lead or supporting, you will be in both the proof of concept video as well as the feature film. The feature film, which directors plan to shoot in late Spring 2025 will (tentatively) be a 20–25-day shoot, also in the Tri-Cities. The feature will be paid, and they are looking for actors who are local or who can work as a local. Please only apply if you are able and willing to commit to the time and effort required to film in the Tri-Cities. Some characters will only be needed for 1 day while others may be needed for up to the duration of the shoot. Shoot dates: tentative late November 29-30 for proof-of-concept video and late Spring 2025 for feature film. (Dates for film production will be set by end of year). Location: Johnson City, TN, Elizabethton, TN, and Bristol, TN. Non-union. See the flyer attached. When applying, please include your reels and headshots. Please include size cards. If possible, please include online demo clips along with submission. Sides will be sent for a video audition. Auditions should be submitted within 3 days of receiving sides.
