About the project: Inspired by a true story and featuring the Tony®-nominated score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Broadway’s BRIGHT STAR tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s. When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past—and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives. An uplifting theatrical journey that holds you tightly in its grasp, BRIGHT STAR is as refreshingly genuine as it is daringly hopeful Additional info: Potential Callbacks: Saturday November 2 from 1pm-4pm Performances: January 17-February 1, 2025 (Pay-What-You-Can on January 16) January 16, 17, 18, 24, 25, 30, and 31 at 7:30pm January 18, 19, 25, 26, and February 1 at 2:00pm January 23 at 7:30pm (HOLD) Please prepare 16 bars of music to sing from a musical (keep in mind the style of the show is bluegrass/folk music). Please bring sheet music (an accompanist will be provided)--no CD accompaniment or a-capella singing Please come prepared to move or bring a change of clothes with you. Auditionees will be asked to stay and dance after their vocal audition. Cold readings will be part of the callback process Please apply if interested.
