Description:

Auditions for "Crossing Delancey" a romantic comedy. Seeking cast. Please see more info below. About the project: Synopsis: Crossing Delancey is a warm and charming romantic comedy by Susan Sandler which inspired the Golden Globe-nominated 1988 motion picture of the same name. Isabelle Grossman, “Izzy”, is a young modern Jewish woman who works on New York City’s upper West Side at an independent bookstore. But none of this matters to her feisty, colorful and traditional grandmother (“Bubbie”) who worries about her. She hires a marriage broker who introduces her to Sam, a pickle vendor on the Lower East Side. Isabelle doesn’t believe she has anything in common with Sam, and seems infatuated with Tyler, a successful writer who is highbrow and sophisticated. Will she choose the handsome and urbane author or the gentle, wise and unpretentious pickleman? This heartwarming, smart and funny story explores the bonds of family, tradition, cultural clashes, and the romantic benefits of a new hat.
