About the project: "Welcome to the World of Pure Imagination as the world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels, and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka's army of curious Oompa-Loompas. Featuring songs from the motion picture, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is your golden ticket to an outrageous and fun filled night of entertainment." Additional info: IN-PERSON AUDITIONS Doors open no earlier than 30 minutes prior to a scheduled audition. Performers interested in auditioning in person can fill out the in-person application attached and bring it completed to the audition. On the application for this audition are questions related to double casting, understudying, and swinging (not performing unless called upon to). Performers should answer these questions honestly and truthfully, while maintaining transparency about any other needs (will only be cast with a fellow auditionee/conflicts/etc.) Statements alluding to/presenting indirectness as well as vague responses (maybe/will discuss later/etc.) are strongly discouraged from being placed on the application. The Playhouse is currently seeking a medium sized ensemble who act, sing, and dance their way throughout the production. Some of these tracks may include moving and dancing on knees, performing at heights or on moving platforms and portraying minor supporting named characters. Performers interested in auditioning for this ensemble should have some proficiency in musical theatre and/or jazz-style dance. Hip-hop and ballet skills are required for select dancers within the show.
