"Beauty and the Beast" Musical In Need Of Cast
Theatre is excited to finally announce auditions for production of "Beauty and the Beast". Seeking cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the breakdown below. Additional info: Be prepared to stay for the entire hour with a potential of being needed for longer. Walk-ins are welcome, but may be seen in the last group of the evening. Auditionees are asked to sing and prepare 16 to 32 bars of a song in the style of the show and must bring their own sheet music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided. Auditionees will also be asked to read a monologue from the show. Sides will be provided. Finally, Auditionees are asked to dress comfortably as there will be a dance portion for all auditionees no matter what part you are auditioning for. Female Presenting (A4-F5) - Belle is an intelligent and insightful young woman who longs for a life of adventure. Her love of books and literature has labeled her odd to the villagers of the town, but she is in no way timid. She has bravery and a strength in her to stand up and speak her mind. However, she also is gentle and loving.
Male Presenting (A3-F4) - The Beast was at once a very spoiled prince whose vanity has caused him to be turned into a hideous beast. He has a temper that comes from a lasting loneliness and fear that he will never be able to break the curse put on him and his staff. However, he comes to learn compassion and love.
Male Presenting (A3-F4) - Gaston is the village celebrity. Most love him and admire him, but there is only one person he loves more than anything and that is himself. He claims to love Belle but that is only because she is the only person he deems as beautiful as he is. He is the epitome of narcissism.
(B3-G4) - Lefou is Gaston's most devoted sidekick. They will do anything to stay in Gaston's good graces. They are not the smartest of people. The actor in this role must have good physical comedy skills.
Male Presenting (A3-E4) - Cogsworth was the majordomo of the Castle staff who has now been turned into a mantle clock. He is tightly wound and uptight. He is scared of upsetting the beast, but very much longs to return to a human life.
Male Presenting (A3-E4) - Lumiere was once the Beast's head valet who has now turned into a candelabra. While he misses his human life, his carefree and quite flirtations attitude keeps him positive.
Male Presenting (A3-G3) - Maurice is Belle's father and an inventor. He is very eccentric and everyone in the village thinks he is crazy. He is very kind and wishes nothing but the best for his daughter.
Female Presenting (F3-E5) - Mrs. Potts was once the head of the kitchen at the Castle, but she has now been turned into a teapot. She is very mothering, not only to Chip, but everyone at the castle as well including the Beast.
Female Presenting (C4-D5) - Babette was once a maid at the Castle who has now been turned into a feather duster. She can be a flirt. She also longs for a return to human life as well as a more committed relationship with Lumiere.
(B4-D5) - Once a famed opera singer, Madame de la Grande Bouche just happened to be at the castle at the wrong time. She was turned into a wardrobe. She greatly misses human life and performing.
