"The Wizard of Oz" The Musical Needs Cast
Theatre is looking for actors to audition for upcoming production of "The Wizard of Oz". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: Travel over the rainbow with THE WIZARD OF OZ! This beloved tale comes to life featuring all the moments and music from the iconic 1939 MGM film. Follow the yellow brick road with Dorothy Gale as she encounters a host of whimsical characters on her journey to the Emerald City: good witches, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion, and the Wicked Witch of the West, who will stop at nothing to get her hands on the ruby slippers. To make it home safely, Dorothy must learn an important lesson: there’s no place like home. Additional info: Callbacks: Saturday, September 7/1 - 5 PM. Male presenting, (Baritone) Plucky and clever in a pinch, even while lacking a brain. Strong actor with an honest quality. Excellent dancer – acrobatic skills a bonus. Strong baritone to F.
Male presenting, (Baritone/Tenor). Desperate for a heart. A kind-hearted romantic. Singing and dance required. Strong baritone / tenor to G.
Male presenting, (Baritone). A mix of bravado and cowardice. Should move well. Cuddly actor with excellent comic timing. Vocal range: Strong baritone to F.
Female presenting. Character villain with an over-the-top stage presence. Excellent comic actress, has a killer cackle. Sings comically but doesn’t have to sound good.
Older father figure with an eccentric flair. Basic conjuring or sleight of hand a bonus. Non-Singing.
Female presenting, (Soprano). Glinda is the Good Witch of the North. Benevolent and beloved. Strong singer.
Female presenting. Aunt Em is demanding, but loves her niece. Non-singing.
Male presenting. Dorothy’s pleasant uncle. Non-singing.
(Baritone). Strong comic actor, big presence.
