Actors Audition For Upcoming Student Film
Actors needed for student film. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the roles below. About the project: Looking for actors for film for school. It's a dark comedy. "The film is about Mia, a young woman who's living with her friend Maddy. They're normal early 20-somethings, just being lawless and godless and trying to figure out who they are. They started a band together, they go rollerblading all night, have one night stands etc etc girl stuff. One day, Mia is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She wakes up and is unable to walk/talk/use her dexterity normally and she's hospitalized for a month. The story is throughout those few weeks, these strange and silly interactions she has while in the hospital. She deals with this situation using nihilism and humor." Rate: Unpaid, but compensated in food and a fun set environment. If you are interested, please apply. Director will ask you to meet with her for a few minutes over Zoom and read a couple of lines, which will have to be any day between July 23rd to July 29th and she'll let you know within a day or two if she'll want you to attend callbacks (in person in Troy OR on Zoom).

Lead, female presenting. Independent, rebellious, artistic, vivacious. She has a hard time getting in touch with her emotions, she'd rather make it silly and move on. She had a rough upbringing so she's definitely a little hardened. She doesn't always make the best decisions, but she's willing to live and learn through any type of situation. Tattoos preferred but not required.
2nd Lead, female presenting. Mia's best friend. Lead vocalist and guitarist in their band (not required skills for role). Cool, punky, candid. a girl's girl. Similar to Mia, she doesnt show her emotions very much, which is why they go so well together. They can support each other and be honest without making each other uncomfortable. She's there with Mia in the hospital every single day, just sitting on the recliner day and night. Tattoos preferred but not required.
Supporting. Honestly just a great dad all around. Mia's mom (they are now divorced) was abusive toward her growing up and he wasnt really there much, so he definitely makes up for it now by being very supportive and present for her. She's the spitting image of him, beyond just looks, but with movies and music and art. He freely expresses his emotions and love.
In the same spot as Mia and Maddy. Just being generally debaucherous but fun. They go to visit Mia while she's in the hospital and bring in a pint of her favorite whiskey and a few joints for her. They don't talk about the heavy scary situation at hand, just keeping it light and silly.
Mia's physical therapist. She does her job satisfactorily, but not amazingly. She shows up, does some stuff, then goes home. She's empathetic but stern and doesn't get too involved. Mia likes that about her.
When Mia comes into the liquor store on her 21st birthday walking with a cane, he doesn't ask for her ID. She's confused and kinda bummed not to use it to buy alcohol legally for the first time. He says either she's 21 or she needs this pint. He's empathetic, but not overstepping or nosy.
