Auditions for "The Sound of Music" Show
Seeking performers and singers for the upcoming "Sound of Music" show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Callbacks: August 17th (by invitation only). Auditions will be held in pre-reserved 5-minute slots. Come prepared to sing 32 bars of a song in the style of the show. Be prepared to list schedule conflicts that might impact your availability for rehearsals or performances. Bring your performing resume, if you have one. Rehearsals will begin the week of September 22nd with the first read-through on Sunday, 9/15. The inspirational leader to the nuns at the Abbey. Authoritative and kind. She is motherly to Maria. Vocal Range – soprano, B3-Ab5.
A charming and witty man. He is good friends with the Captain and the baroness. Acts like an uncle towards the children. Vocal Range – tenor, C3-E4.
A wealthy, sophisticated, widowed Baroness. She is the Captain’s fiancé. Very good friends with Max. Does not really like children. Vocal Range – mezzo, C4-G5.
The prudish, straight laced mistress of the Novices. Vocal Range – mezzo, B3-D5
The kind and caring mistress of the Postulants. Vocal Range – mezzo, B3-F5
She is dutiful and kind but sticks with the rules of the Abbey. Vocal Range – mezzo, B3-Eb5
She is strong and determined and respected by the family. (She will sing as one of the nuns at the top of the show) Vocal Range – No specific voice range required (alto, mezzo or soprano)
