About the project: "Free Movies" is a slice-of-life and surrealist feature film about Hannah, a colour-blind street photographer, who finds herself in various sticky situations due to the fact she spends most of her time spying on people and taking pictures of them without their consent. They follow her along her journey as she develops a romance with a fellow photographer, burns bridges with clients and friends, and meets two mysterious characters who help her see colour for the first time in her life. Curly/wavy hair, mischievous, flirtatious and a bit of a shit disturber. Otto is a photographer who meets Hannah and the two develop an intimate and professional relationship before he ultimately breaks her trust. This role requires intimacy.
Femme or Non-Binary. A bit of a drifter, Nan is a free spirited, march to the beat of her own drum gal whose main activity is to sit next to a wishing well and hand people pennies.

This is a very kooky role, and they are committed to finding the right performers for the story. Toot is one half of Toot and Crash, who walk around with a trumpet and cymbals, making their own music.

A friend of Hannah’s, who lets her catsit but returns home to a destroyed apartment. Fifi is pragmatic and measured and mature, everything Hannah is not. Though she is a caring person, she realizes that she has got to set boundaries.
The owner of the flowershop where Hannah works. Elle has real boss bitch energy and though she has a compassionate side, she's there to run a business and has no room for Hannah’s chaos.
Open to receiving submissions from other ages/gender presentations. Another otherworldly character, who is friends with Toot and Crash, and performs a magical surgery on Hannah. The magician has the type of energy you’d find in an old Disney film (think Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Mary Poppins) but scarier.
A model client of Hannah’s who schedules a photoshoot with her, and is ultimately unimpressed with Hannah’s attitude. Viv is put together, confident and not afraid to speak her mind.
