About the project: Featuring cherished songs, including "Climb Ev'ry Mountain," "My Favorite Things," "Do-Re-Mi," "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" and the title number, The Sound of Music won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision. Additional info: Please come on-time as we will be auditioning people in groups. Be prepared to move and have an appropriate song prepared to sing either a capella or with CD accompaniment. Performance dates will be Fridays through Sundays, November 29th through December 8th. Additional performances may be added, either a 3rd weekend or Saturday afternoons based on ticket sales.

Charming and vital; a man of sophistication who enjoys the good life; true and loyal friend to the von Trapp family.
A baroness of taste and elegance, sophisticated, dignified and mature. Vocal range top: F5 Vocal range btm: D4
Motherly, understanding, strong and authoritative, but kind. Vocal range top: G#5/Ab5 Vocal range btm: B3
Mistress of Novices, prudish, straight laced with a quick tongue. She is less tolerant than the other nuns. Vocal range top: E5 Vocal range btm: C4
Mistress of Postulants, very kind, understanding and concerned. Vocal range top: E5 Vocal range btm: 83
Neither demanding nor critical, sticks with the rules. Vocal range top: E5 Vocal range btm: B3
Non-singing role The von Trapp butler, rather formal but not without spirit. He is very German and loyal to the Fascist cause
Non singing role The housekeeper, stoic on the outside, but seems to have opinions she keeps to herself. She does her job efficiently, but without affection. Strong and somewhat dominating.
Non singing role Stern and unsmiling, a typical Nazi official whose primary concern is to see that everyone toes the line.
