About the project: Synopsis: Struggling with grief, a teenage girl revisits the past to make peace with the loss of her mother. Rate: Low-budget non-union project. Talent will be offered an honorarium for their respected time & appreciated work on the project. Please, see rates in the character descriptions. Additional information: Self-tapes are due by August 1. Callbacks will be in-person in Vancouver on August 17. Shoot Dates & Location: Filming will take place in Vancouver, BC on October 12-14, 2024. LEAD. 18+ to play 16 yo. A teenage girl struggling to process her mother’s recent passing. She lives with her father, but their mutual loss has strained their relationship. Through her beloved grandma and memories of the past, Ivy must learn to face her grief head-on in order to heal. $200 honorarium.
SUPPORTING, BIPOC. Ivy’s mother and Erik’s wife. A source of happiness, love, and direction in the family, her passing from cancer three months prior has left a void in Ivy and Erik’s household. $100 honorarium.
SUPPORTING. Ivy’s father, a widower who is farther along in processing his grief than his daughter. He has his struggles but is on the path of moving forward in their home. He is both concerned for Ivy’s well-being and exhausted with her defiance. $100 honorarium.
SUPPORTING. Erik’s mother and Ivy’s grandmother, a content and peaceful woman with a passion for dance. She is no stranger to grief — losing both her husband and daughter-in-law has taken its toll. However, like Erik, she has learned to accept it and wants to help Ivy do the same. $100 honorarium.
