Unable to believe his luck, Jude Crowley goes home with Marie Scottsdale who is way beyond his league for a one night stand. What he doesn’t know is that Marie is part of a delusional family of amateur wrestlers. He soon finds out that they’d actually been observing him for years and are looking to initiate him into the family and build him up to be a wrestler. Jude is a normal college student, who has a one night stand with Marie Scottsdale. When he is thrown into unexpected situations, he becomes timid and awkward. The comedic element comes through his awkwardness, trying to be friendly and not knowing how to act when he is introduced into a maniac family that is obsessed with him. He feels helpless, but goes along with the plans of the family welcoming him to be a member of the Scottsdale's.
Marie is the "girl next door" kind, extremely outgoing, passive aggressive, and preoccupied with her love interest, Jude Crowely. She comes from a family of amateur (backyard) wrestlers, and she has inherited their unorthodox characteristics. She has an entitled mindset resulting from being the only daughter and youngest of three older brothers.
Doug is extremely affable, a typical family man, an adrenaline junkie, and the father of one daughter (Marie) and three sons (Duke, Dick, and Dale), all of whom are raised to be "professional" wrestlers. He does not seem to understand verbal or physical boundaries.
Duke is physically fit; mostly buff, and tall. He is quite empty-headed and slow in taking information. He can be a sheep; as he is loyal to and worship his father. He is part of a family of amateur wrestlers, dedicating his entire life to backyard wrestling.
Dick is physically fit; mostly buff, and tall. He is quite empty-headed and slow in taking information. He can be a sheep; as he is loyal to and worship his father. He is part of a family of amateur wrestlers, dedicating his entire life to backyard wrestling.
Dale is physically fit; mostly buff, and tall. He is quite empty-headed and slow in taking information. He can be a sheep; as he is loyal to and worship his father. He is part of a family of amateur wrestlers, dedicating his entire life to backyard wrestling. He is a little bit smarter than the rest of his brothers.
