"My Man Godfrey" Stage Play Searching For Cast
Auditions for "My Man Godfrey" play. In need of actors. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: The Theatre and director will hold auditions for their fall production, the stage version of the 1936 silver screen classic, "My Man Godfrey". Additional info: There are approximately 15 roles to fill, with some actors playing multiple roles, and some costumed actors serving as both stage crew and ensemble. Actors must be 18 years old by the start of rehearsals. Actors may arrive at the Theatre any time from 6:00-8:00 on the evening they are auditioning. Auditions will be individual, and will consist of scenes or monologues as chosen by the director. Character descriptions will be available outside the audition room. Scenes and monologues will not be published before auditions. Callbacks, if needed, will be held on Wednesday, July 12. A mandatory cast call will be held Sunday, July 16. Rehearsals will start Monday, July 31. Actors should come prepared to list any and all conflicts that may arise during the rehearsal period. Performances will be September 29 and 30 and October 6 and 7 at 7:00 p.m., and October 1 and 8 at 2:00 p.m. If you are interested, please apply.

Of the Boston Parkes. A not-so-young man, Harvard educated but not a snob. He is decisive, quiet, and intelligent. Nothing escapes his notice, but he keeps most things he notices to himself. Throughout the play, a quiet sense of irony keeps him sane. He’s rarely confused, but Irene confuses him.
Around 25 years old, a Park Avenue brat. Mean-spirited, competitive, intelligent, and spiteful. Would make an incredible CEO or card shark, but is stuck being a debutante instead.
Around 25 years old, more cocker spaniel than husky, and faithful to a fault. Desperately in love with Cornelia.
Around 22 years old, Cornelia’s younger sister. Known to those who aren’t looking very hard as “the dumbest girl to ever come out at the Ritz,” but has an emotional intelligence that shows itself at unexpected moments. Childish at times, but mostly because she’s never been taught not to act like a child.
Growly, and beset by family and financial worries. Owns the Hanoverian bank, which is failing. Out of his depth at home and at the bank.
Mother of the Bullock clan. Reveling in being a society matron, but she wasn’t always one of that crowd. Exceedingly ditzy, loves her children, never one to discipline or provide structure. Sponsor of Carlo.
Angelica’s “protege.” A possibly European piano player faking it as a bankrupt member of the aristocracy. Just a guy on the make, taking advantage of a cozy situation while it lasts.
Sarcastic, intelligent maid of the Bullock household. Instantly smitten with Godfrey, but unlikely to show it much.
Friend of Godfrey from his former life. Famous polo player and stockbroker. Fell off his horse a time or two too often, but is a very good guy. Funny, pokes gentle fun, always willing to play along.
