About the project: Synopsis: Amaris is a 20-year-old social science student in Montreal who just got told she has cancer. She questions life, questions God. She takes a trip to that new shop next to her house where, weirdly enough, many of her questions are answered when she meets Dalia’s gaze. Her quest is clear: dying is never scary, it is purposeful. Rate: Non-union. Roles are financially compensated. Food will be provided. Additional information: It is a self-produced and low-budget project. Genre: Drama, Romance, Young Adults. Length: 10-15 minutes. Dates: 22nd and 23rd of June 2024. 1 afternoon of rehearsal + 1 afternoon of shooting. When applying, please submit Head shot/Photo, Video Reel. If you don't have one, record yourself performing a monologue from any movie, as long as the character is in their early 20s and is focused on romance (La La Land, Monster, Requiem for A Dream...). You can also provide other material that you feel is in line with the character (playlist, mood board…) Be creative.

Dalia is a Muslim woman. She’s light but convincing, almost precious. She’s observing, charming and can decipher people in one glance. She is Amaris' love interest. She is of good advice and is the key point in Amaris' conflict resolution. Also, she loves rooibos tea. Ethnicity: Middle Eastern, South Asian.
Olivia meets Amaris while walking her dog. She is an anchor point in the later interaction between Amaris and Dalia. The actor needs to be comfortable around animals.
