Casting call for "Island Girl" non-union feature film. Seeking actors. Please see more information below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: A story of a young girl born in the Mata Island and raised in America. Living a luxurious life in Orange County, CA. As an adult, she suddenly gets a call that her father had passed away. She must now return to her motherland to do her obligations. Aunty (fahu) who has raised Inga (lead) to become a woman must now tell her about her real identity. It’s a story of self-discovery, forgiveness, love, and a culture rich in history. Additional info: All submissions must be in by April 30th, 2024. Filming Starts in July. All must be familiar with the Polynesian culture, especially the Tongan culture. Tongan/Samoan. Old school. Rides a bicycle around town. Knows Inga and Aunty for most of his life. Care free kinda guy. Speaks Tongan.
Samoan/Tongan. Inga’s real mother . Very attractive. Passed away when Inga was four years old. Inga was everything to her. She died trying to give birth to a newborn. Unfortunately, both died. She has always watched over Inga. A mother never forgets. She appears to Inga a couple of times. Inga is so consumed with the negativity of her life, she forgets to open her heart and feel her mom’s love.
Dialogue in Tongan. Wise, smart and knows the story of Tonga. She explains what the ngatu means to the Mata/Tongan people and how the Leitis are involved with the royal family.
Dialogue in Tongan. Very kindhearted. Speaks fluent Tongan and receives money from Aunty once a month. Lives in a remote island. Side Note: Prefer to have Muffie come with four kids.
Handsome hafekasi. Speaks with a light Māori accent with a great smile. Lived in California for a long time. He was raised in a Mata/Tongan household. Travels to Mata Island to develop land that his father left him. Single and believes in the word of God. Met Inga on an airplane. Must understand the Tongan culture.
A total beach bum. Loves being at the bar drinking his usual bourbon on the rocks. It’s his home away from home. Old regular. Very close with Toa.
