About the project: OCEAN AVENUE is a coming-of-age tale that will resonate with anyone who’s ever felt the clash of friendship, first loves, and the frustration of small-town dreams. This story isn't just a musical—it’s a time capsule bursting with the epic soundtrack of our emotionally charged youth. Additional info: Please prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary emo/pop-punk/rock song that best demonstrates your vocal talent, as well as a monologue no longer than one minute. In the interest of time, please bring a device you can play an instrumental track from, as that will not be provided. Please apply if interested.

An appealing, good-natured guy with great boyish charm and vulnerability. Corey is the guitarist and “de facto” leader of their band as he is trying everything for Ocean Avenue to get a record deal. Corey does deal with some heartache throughout the show, but his resolve and friends help him get through it all. Easy comedic timing and a very strong singing voice.
Corey’s moody best friend, Nick has lived a rough life. Abandoned by his family, the rebellious Nick lives in Corey’s dad’s garage as Ocean Avenue tries to make it big. A bit of a loose cannon who never turns down a party, Nick also has feelings for Corey’s girlfriend Cassie. A very strong singing voice.
A cute, tom-boyish girl who has been friends with Corey since they were kids, but might harbor stronger feelings for him. With her determination and passione, she joins Ocean Avenue and pushes the band to new heights. Easy comedic timing and a very strong singing voice.
The beautiful but petty Cassie is the girlfriend of Corey and resident Ocean Avenue groupie. An unapologetic flirt by nature, Cassie is the quintessential MySpace scene girl: hair bows, raccoon tail hairstyle with bright makeup. She is also a bully towards people she doesn't like, such as Maria.
Hunter is the lead singer of the rival band, The Grooms. Cocky and arrogant with a knack for being very persuasive, he believes his band is the next big thing. Antagonistic and selfish, he will stop at nothing to crush their competition and win the Battle of the Bands. A very strong singing voice and comedic timing is needed for this role.
Mr. Sheckler is Corey’s dad and a local police officer. He is a very caring father and very supportive of Corey’s dream to play music. He also loves Nick as a surrogate son and wants what is best for him as well.
Neil is an old school rocker with a mysterious past (and possibly British). At first, Neil is someone who may be able to help Ocean Avenue record a demo, but he becomes a mentor to Corey when all seems lost. He has a rough exterior but is loyal to those he finds worthy. Must have comedic timing, British accent encouraged.
