About the project: THE STORY: Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace! Rated AGP-PG Additional info: Pre-Audition Workshop: Saturday, March 30 @ 1:00pm - The workshop will be beneficial for those interested in auditioning for the older school kids (ages 12-25) - Early auditions will be held for anyone that cannot make the April auditions - Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you can move in - Attendees will learn about the characters in the show and get a brief synopsis of the story - Attendees will learn the dance that will be used for auditions - Attendees will sing through all of the audition music that pertains to the kids roles - There will be a Q&A for both parents and kids at the end of the workshop Auditions: - It is recommended that you attend 2 audition events, but this is not required to be cast - Auditions will consist of dancing, singing, and reading selections from the show - Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you can move in Rehearsals may be scheduled Sunday after 2PM, Monday-Thursday after 5PM, and Saturdays between 9AM and 5PM. Tech and dress rehearsals are required.
