Audition For Singing in "Beauty and the Beast"
Seeking talent for the "Beauty and the Beast" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: This beloved fairytale recounts the story of Belle, a young woman in a small town, and the Beast, a prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end. But time is running out... Additional info: Please prepare 32 bars (about 1 minute) of a contemporary musical theatre song in a similar style to the show. You must bring an accompaniment (no vocals) track to the audition. An accompanist will NOT be available. All actors will also be asked to participate in a dance audition. You may wish to bring a change of clothes/shoes to dance in. PERFORMANCES: JULY 18-21, 2024. Mezzo A vibrant, intelligent young woman who wants more from life.
Baritone The vain, egotistical villain determined to marry Belle.
Baritone A tightly wound, enchanted stuffy mantleclock, butler of the Beast's castle. Speaks in a British accent.
Baritone A suave, French, debonair enchanted candelabra. The maîtred' of the castle. Speaks in a French accent.
Mezzo A kind-hearted, maternal enchanted teapot. The head of the castle's kitchen. Speaks in a British accent.
Tenor Gaston's sidekick. Requires extreme physical comedy.
Baritone Belle's loving, eccentric inventor father.
Soprano A former opera diva turned into a wardrobe. May speak in an exaggerated French accent.
Tenor The scheming proprietor of the local insane asylum. Speaks in a French accent.
Soprano A saucy, flirtatious maid-turned-featherduster who seeks Lumière's affections. Speaks in a French accent.
Mezzo Gaston’s fangirls.
There will be two Ensembles: Villager Ensemble (Belle, Gaston, Mob Song), and the Enchanted Ensemble (Be Our Guest, Human Again, Mob Song).
