"Guys and Dolls" musical needs actors. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: Guys and Dolls is a classic 1950’s Broadway musical at its show-stopping best! Created around Runyon’s short story “The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown,” the show follows a rowdy bunch of gamblers, gangsters, and sassy showgirls in a wild game of chance…then love sneaks in! Set in the bustling 1950’s NYC Manhattan streets with a collage of colorful people and showstopping musical numbers, Frank Loesser’s memorable tunes include “Adelaide’s Lament,” “Luck Be a Lady,” and “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat.” Guys and Dolls is a 2-hour musical in the classical style of Musical Theatre. Ensemble features include singing and dancing show girls in “Take Back Your Mink” and “A Bushel and a Peck” (tap dance), and the athletic gambler’s ballet in the sewers of Manhattan. Additional info: All interested performers are asked to bring sheet music and present a memorized vocal selection. An accompanist will be provided. A Callback List will be posted Wednesday, April 3 prior to noon. Callbacks will be held that evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. with a dance call. Individuals in consideration for principle roles will be provided with materials and asked to read from the script. "Guys and Dolls" will feature a cast of 30-40. An Audition Workshop for Guys and Dolls will be offered Monday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m. - see the attachment. Rehearsals: Most rehearsals for production of Guys and Dolls will be held Sunday through Thursday evenings between the hours of 7:00-10:00 p.m. The first cast meeting will be held Sunday, April 7. Performances will be held: Thursday, May 30, 7:30 p.m., Underwriter’s Preview Performance; Friday, May 31, 7:30 p.m., Opening Night Performance; Saturday, June 1, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, June 2, 2:00 p.m.; Thursday, June 6, 7:30 p.m.; Friday, June 7, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, June 8, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, June 9, 2:00 p.m.; Thursday, June 13, 7:30 p.m.; Friday, June 14, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, June 15, 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, June 16, 2:00 p.m. Cast members are required to be available for every performance.
