About the project: She Loves Me, which was nominated for five Tony Awards in 1964, and both revivals in 1994 and 2016 snagged numerous nominations and awards. Considered by many to be the most charming musical ever written, She Loves Me is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old-world elegance. The Mikos Lazlos play Parfuemerie, on which it is based, has inspired many adaptations, including the beloved film You've Got Mail starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. Set in a 1930s European perfumery, we meet shop clerks, Amalia and Georg, who, more often than not, don't see eye to eye. After both respond to a "lonely hearts advertisement" in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters that they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. Join Amalia and Georg to discover the identity of their true loves... and all the twists and turns along the way! Rate: NO PAY/ NON AEA (small travel stipend available) Additional info: Call backs: Saturday, December 9 at 10am. Sides will be provided. Rehearsals begin: Tuesday, January 16, 2024, Sundays 6-9, Mondays - Thursdays 7-10 Performances: March 15 - 30. Friday and Saturday @ 8pm, Sundays @ 2pm NO PERFORMANCE ON MARCH 31, EASTER. There WILL be 2 shows on Saturday, the 30th with a 2pm and 8pm show. Auditioners are asked to prepare a song from the style of the show, 16-24 bars. An accompanist wil be provided.
