Strong Singer/Dancers Needed for "Xanadu" Musical
The company is holding auditions for "Xanadu: The Musical" and looking for singers, please see the details below. About the project: Xanadu follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first ROLLER DISCO! (Hey, it's 1980!) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds. Additional info: Call backs scheduled for Thursday, December 14th 6:30-9:30. Rehearsals will be on weeknights beginning the first week in January. Opening night is March 23rd and will play weekends through April 28th. Looking for strong singer/dancers. Skills such as tap, swing dancing, tumbling, rhythmic gymnastics, juggling and roller-skating a plus. Come prepared to move. Please prepare approximately one minute of a song that is pop, or from a pop style musical. The ability to scat, belt or harmonize a plus. Bring a background track. There may be a few roles that don’t require as much dance, most will. Kira and Sonny must be able to roller skate.

The Tubes is an iconic, hard-rockin' new-wave band of the 80s. They all have great energy and can sing with a lot of character.
The king of the gods, he has a big presence and a large booming voice. He is after all, the King of the Gods. May not have to be a strong dancer.
Hera is Zeus' wife and is known for her comparable status to her husband. She must be able to harmonize.May not have to be a strong dancer.
Thetis is the Goddess of the Sea who tells the pivotal story of Achilles and his vulnerable heel. Must have excellent diction and must be able to harmonize. May not have to be a strong dancer.
She is the Goddess of Love. She is extremely lovely and must be able to harmonize. May not have to be a strong dancer.
